The Things About Writing Letters#
In the previous weekly journal, I mentioned Slowly. Although I don't actively send letters anymore, I still open the app from time to time to check if I have received any new letters and to see if my Brazilian friend, whom I met during the summer vacation, has replied.
She is someone I met during the summer vacation. Looking at her profile, she is much older than me, 36 years old. I guess she has been working for many years and has a happy family. We exchanged many letters over the past two months, and she told me about her divorce, moving to a new city, and the pressure she is facing at work. However, overall, she is doing fine. I believe that divorce is not just an individual problem, and it doesn't necessarily mean losing happiness. It's about breaking stereotypes!
By September, I hadn't received a reply from her, so I sent another greeting letter, thinking that she was busy with work and didn't have time. However, she informed me that she hasn't made any close friends in the new city and is under a lot of work pressure. Her emotions are in a bad state, and she is receiving treatment from a psychologist. I sent another letter during the National Day, but didn't receive a reply. I hope she can adjust soon.
This week, I also received a letter from Italy. It's been a long time since I received a long letter! And it's not a template or a mass message! I replied sincerely.
This may be the most serious time for me to learn English. I'm using the poor vocabulary I've accumulated over the years. This semester, I also have a course on technical English. I need to prepare a presentation and a small essay. I need to make good use of my time and not rely on deadlines.
From my perspective, as I grow up and go out to study, I become more and more introverted, and I have fewer and fewer real friends. On the internet, I have actually made some friends. After all, humans are social animals, and being alone can be a bit lonely.
SHU's 100th Anniversary#
Speaking of which, I am currently studying at SHU for my postgraduate degree. I should be proud of my alma mater, but its actions make it difficult for me to understand.
Due to close contacts, the area where I am currently located has already returned to normal with the 3+4 control measures. However, the school's policies are still in place, and teachers can freely enter and exit for offline classes. We are not allowed to eat in the cafeteria every day, even though the packaging fee is waived. Even if the boxes are biodegradable, it still makes me feel uncomfortable, not to mention not being able to go out.
Speaking of the 100th anniversary, it is actually based on the original SHU's founding time, not the newly merged one. However, they emphasize the good-sounding part and connect it with the special significance of the original SHU. I won't comment further. Besides the epidemic prevention policies mentioned earlier, there are a bunch of face projects that make people criticize during the "Centennial Celebration." The real students haven't felt much.
This is the first year. Life is like this, full of opportunities and choices. Whether you make the right or wrong choice, your worldline will change.
Be Happy#
Recently, I have been studying CPP. I plan to spend a year learning it, as if I am self-studying for a change of major. I don't really understand the tasks assigned by the teacher, and it seems like he doesn't understand them either (laughs). But as long as I do something practical and feel the passage of time, I will be less anxious.
I have gained a bit more self-awareness. Last week, I saw Lyuyan sharing a personality test, so I took it. The result was ENFJ. I don't know if it's accurate or not, but I must be a person who relies on feelings!
It's the 20th week of writing weekly journals, time flies! Will I feel the same way in the future, saying, "Whoosh, three years have passed, and I have already graduated!"
Finally, I want to share the beautiful sky and clouds I saw a few evenings ago. I couldn't help but take a picture.
(In October, if you happen to smell the fragrance of osmanthus while passing by, it will make your day better~
